**English Below**

Castellano versión
Hola Diaventureros!!!
ENTREVISTA A ABIGAIL LARSON

Muchos artistas me inspiran. Demasiados para una lista! Unos pocos de mis favoritos son Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, Edward Gorey, Dr. Seuss, Kay Nielsen, Salvador Dali, Tim Burton, Guillermo Del Torro, many many musicians, etc...

                     INTERVIEW TO ABIGAIL LARSON

Biography:
Abigail had ambitions of becoming an opera singer and joining the circus whilst growing up, and although neither of those ended up working out too well, she still enjoys both.
She began drawing with ink and painting with watercolor. She has developed a taste for flat digital coloring, however, and only gets a craving for paint now and again.
Her inspirations range from Edgar Allen Poe to Lewis Carroll to Dr. Seuss. Her greatest artistic influences have been Arthur Rackham, John William Waterhouse, and Edward Gorey.
Any spare time that's not spent basking in darkness or watching re-runs of The Addams Family, she is creating art for private clients, illustrating books, and spending time with her favorite long-leggity beasts, ghouls, ghosts and various other things that go bump in the night.
Abigail's work has been featured in many gallery shows across the United States, such as the Museum of American Illustrators in New York, The Poe Museum of Richmond, and Gallery Nucleus in California, and she has participated in many group gallery shows including Halloween Town's annual "Tribute to the Haunted Mansion" and Creature Features' "October Shadows" shows.

Airin.-You’re a big artist, that has impacted with your style the world but we would know about your beginning- When do you realised that you wanted to be an artista? What kind of drawing do you liked to do when you was a child?

Abigail-I've always loved art, long before I even knew much about it. From the time I could hold a pen, I loved to draw. As a small child I spent a lot of time looking through books, and playing in the woods. I loved to imagine creatures and beasts from mythology, and would draw characters from my own stories. Fairies, elves, animals, etc.

Airin-Was it very difficult or easy to you create your style? How began? What are the tools that you normally used?

Abigail-My style is something everyone is curious about. I honestly cannot say how it began. I drew all the time - in school, and at home. I would try new things, new paints, new pencils, and study my favorite artists all the time. My inspirations came in many forms. I loved John Waterhouse, Arthur Rackham, Edward Gorey, and Dr. Seuss, but I also found inspiration in music, movies, and other forms of artwork. After a while, people would comment on my artwork's distinct style, and I didn't even know I was doing it! I was simply drawing the world as I saw it. My tools are very basic. Simple mechanical pencils, erasers, and micron pens. I draw on a drawing pad, and paint with Windsor Newton watercolors on Arches hot press paper.

-Did you thought that some day you'd have success in the artistic area?

To be honest, I never thought about it. I thought about a career in illustration in high school, and later in college, but I was not worried about success. I simply wanted to express my visions, and if people liked them, then they would, and if not, then I would pursue some other career. It just turned out that people have enjoyed my work so far! I'm very grateful for that, but I was not striving for success. Only to represent my world on paper.

-Who are the artists that inspires you today?

Many artists inspire me. Too many to list! A few of my favorites are Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, Edward Gorey, Dr. Seuss, Kay Nielsen, Salvador Dali, Tim Burton, Guillermo Del Torro, many many musicians, etc...

-What was the most hard thing for you to draw? And the most easy? Do you prefer to draw woman, man, girls or boys?

The most difficult thing for me to draw is something stereotypically happy. I do not often see things as bright and joyful as other people do. The most natural things to draw are the surreal and strange. I find beauty in many odd things. I prefer to draw women, I suppose because I am one! I find women to be vert versatile subjects, and very beautiful. I love men, too! But their beauty is in their strength, their grit, their toughness, to me. I seldom depict human men, unless it's for a project. I much prefer monsters.

-What is your opinión about tradicional way vs. Digital way?

I love them both! My style is a mix between the two. I love the look of paint, and there is no replication for the brush strokes, the watercolor on paper. So I draw and paint on paper, then finish colors and tones in Photoshop. It saves me time, and I can get the precision I desire with very little effort.

-Besides your artistic side I know that you love singing and do you want to be a opera Singer. Did you have the oportunity to show your voice for a public? Did you thought in publish- some day- a cd?

I do love to sing, and I love music! One of my many dreams was to be a singer. I love opera, but I was never trained for it.  I suppose, should my hands ever stop working, I will have another career to pursue :)

-Nowadays, Do you working in some Project? Do you thinking to do a comic or a graphic novel with your style? That would be awesome

I am, actually! I've just finished "Sarah Faire" which is in the process of being published sometime next year. It's a children's book. I'm also working on an adaption of "Beauty and the Beast" in the form of a graphic novel. I do not have a release date yet, but it is my current project. I have a few other projects with other collaborators, but I am not permitted to talk about them yet!

-What do you say for people that begin in the world of illustrator?

Illustration is a very diverse and competitive field. YOu must be willing to work very long hours, weekends, and nights. You will have to devote your heart and soul to your work. If you're willing to do this, you can be successful in anything you dream of. Just remember to do it because you love it, not because you think someone else will.

I hope Abigail continue showing us her fantastic world.
Thanks :)
